Play a leading role in the development of new and existing products. This is a challenging role involving structural analysis and simulation of highly optimised fabricated and mechanically fastened metal and composite structures.
Developing new products which will include initiating designs from a blank sheet, developing concepts, guiding, and working closely with the design team, performing analyses, liaison through prototype manufacture, testing, trials, and reporting. Independent and autonomous activities to support the design and development of the Company’s products to meet programme objectives.
*Stress analysis, fatigue, and all manner of design calculations *Writing of test specifications and reports *Interpret design specifications and design codes *Participate in solving of assembly and manufacturing problems so that the integrity of the design intent is not comprised.
Proven experience of developing new designs in FEA simulation, preferably ANSYS *Familiar with traditional hand calculation methods * Experience with fabricated aluminium, steel, and composite structures *Can use 3D solid modelling software, ideally Solid Edge or Space claim *Knowledge of strain gauging would be an advantage
